Townhouse living offers 'a sense of overall space & privacy’

One of the well-worn sayings when buying property is location, location, location. Buying and living in a great area is no longer just the domain of house owners. A benefit offered with many new townhouse developments is they are often built close to local amenities, shops and other facilities as an affordable housing option.

Megan Angus, Director at townhouse.com.au says "Buying in a great location and taking the future into consideration is essential. With most new townhouse developments, you will have a choice of layouts and often a mix of bedroom, bathroom and garage options. They are also most commonly located in popular suburbs, close to everything”

Aside from the relative affordability and low maintenance of a townhouse, one of the main benefits of buying a brand new two or three-story townhouse is the sense of overall space and privacy. For people sharing a townhouse, there is also the opportunity to isolate specific activities on each floor.

“In most modern townhouses, the bedrooms and balconies will be separated from the kitchen and the alfresco will be connected to the living area. A lot of new townhouses across South East Queensland also offer a low maintenance courtyard," says Megan.

The Creekside development in Thornlands is a great example of a townhouse development built in an enviable location. Creekside uses a combination of modern design, functional living spaces and stylish appointments to set a new standard for quality living. Positioned directly on the doorstep of Eprapah Creek, these townhouses offer direct access to nature’s finest as well as being conveniently located close to Schools, recreational facilities and shopping centres.

Megan often hears feedback that big backyards can be great for families with growing kids, but not everybody wants or can afford this type of housing. She says, "Many new townhouse developments are being built close to parks and walking tracks, which offers more space at your doorstep, compared to even the biggest back yards."

Megan says a good example of a development being built next to parkland is the Two-Five Barrymore development at Everton Park. “In a complex of only 6 new townhouses 8kms from Brisbane city, it is located on a quiet street with access to Kedron Brook walk-way, bike path, creek-side parks, picnic facilities and barbecues.” These architecturally designed homes boast three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, balconies and lock up garages. There are range of layouts to choose from with each providing unique features.
